The world in black and white, without color information, reduced to the gray gradients, is the premier class of photography. The picture design is a lot more difficult because shadows, light and dominating lines enrich the picture scene and to recognize them and to look beyond the colors requires some experience. Contrasts, shapes and structures are the ingredients that make a successful shot. Seeing the scenery in black and white and not in color is the big challenge. This applies to both analog and digital black and white photography.
